Description
The woofer/midrange drivers use a mineral-filled injection-moulded polypropylene cone and a rubber surround. The JL Audio DMA-optimised motor system is designed to reduce distortion and maintain smooth, dynamic sound even at higher volumes.
High frequencies are handled by 1-inch (25 mm) edge-driven aluminium dome tweeters. The silk surround, ferrofluid cooling and neodymium magnet help achieve clear and detailed high-frequency reproduction. Depending on the installation location, the tweeters can be mounted either flush or surface-mounted.
The system includes separate 2nd-order high-pass filters for the tweeters, together with Advanced Tweeter Protection Circuitry. This helps protect the tweeters from overload and improves the power handling of the system.
Continuous power handling is 60 W RMS, and the manufacturer recommends using an amplifier rated at 10–100 W RMS per channel. The system’s nominal impedance is 4 Ω, sensitivity 91.5 dB and frequency response 39 Hz – 22 kHz.
