Description

The W3v3 series uses several technologies originally developed for JL Audio’s flagship W7 series. Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA) is used to optimise motor behaviour across the diaphragm’s entire range of excursion and power. The aim is to achieve linear cone movement, low distortion, and clean, accurate bass reproduction.

Elevated Frame Cooling™ technology helps direct heat away from the voice coil area, improving cooling and power handling. The W3v3 series is optimised for compact subwoofer enclosures, and the driver can be used in both sealed and ported enclosures.

Despite its small size, continuous power handling is 150 W RMS. According to the manufacturer’s official guidance, the recommended net volume for a sealed enclosure is only 4.2 litres. In a ported enclosure, the recommended net volume is 7.1 litres with a tuning frequency of 38 Hz, making it possible to build a very space-saving bass solution.
