Description
According to the manufacturer, the wavy surface of the material increases the effective sound-absorbing surface area by approximately 30% compared with a flat material. Thanks to this, the material helps to reduce noise entering the car cabin and is well suited as part of a multilayer sound insulation solution.
The material has a memory foam, or shape-conforming, property. Its controlled softness allows it to adapt to uneven and more complex surfaces and to fill gaps where stiffer sound insulation materials do not fit well. This helps to improve sound absorption and reduce unwanted noise in the cabin.
SGM recommends using the material on the car roof, behind the door panels and in the dashboard area. It is installed as a second layer on top of the vibration damping material to achieve multilayer acoustic protection. The material has a self-adhesive backing, which makes installation easier.
