JL Audio C1-650SE 6.5″ component speakers

Description

The C1-650se woofer/midrange driver uses JL Audio’s DMA-optimised design. The manufacturer’s Dynamic Motor Analysis technology models the speaker’s motor, suspension and cone, aiming to reduce distortion, improve transient reproduction and achieve clean, controlled sound. The speaker cone is made of mineral-filled polypropylene.

One of the key differences of the Silk Edition is the larger 1-inch (25 mm) silk dome tweeter. The manufacturer developed this design to achieve high-quality, accurate high-frequency reproduction. The frequency response of the C1-650se extends from 48 Hz to 21 kHz.

In a component system, the woofer/midrange drivers and tweeters are separate, which gives more options for shaping the soundstage during installation. To protect the tweeters, separate 2nd-order high-pass filters with a tweeter protection circuit are used. The tweeters can be installed either flush-mounted or surface-mounted.

The C1-650se is designed to fit as many factory speaker locations as possible. The kit includes multi-purpose adapter brackets that help install the speakers in different vehicles.
