JL Audio C7-350cm is a 3.5-inch component midrange speaker from JL Audio’s top-tier C7 series of car speakers. The C7 series was developed to achieve uncompromising sound quality, and the C7-350cm is intended primarily for a 3-way active audio system with a separate woofer and tweeter.

Description
The C7-350cm is designed to deliver excellent transient reproduction and high linearity, aiming for a clear and natural midrange presentation. To reduce distortion and non-linearities, JL Audio has optimised the dynamic behaviour of the driver’s motor and suspension.
The driver cone is made of vacuum-formed mineral-filled polypropylene. The material combines low mass with good damping, and the cone’s slightly curved profile is designed to optimise the frequency response. The concave dust cap helps improve the driver’s behaviour at higher frequencies.
The C7-350cm uses a 36 mm diameter voice coil, with copper-clad aluminium wire wound on a fibreglass former. The larger voice coil improves power handling and helps reduce thermal compression and distortion at higher volume levels. The motor uses a high-quality neodymium magnet and a specially treated U-Yoke design.
The speaker basket is made of cast alloy and uses JL Audio’s patented Elevated Frame Cooling technology. The manufacturer does not recommend using passive crossovers with C7 speakers. For best results, a high-quality DSP and a separate amplifier channel for each C7 driver are recommended, allowing precise adjustment of the equaliser, delay and crossover filters.
