Description
The MX300/1 uses JL Audio NexD™ Class D amplification technology. High efficiency reduces current draw and heat generation and allows high output power from a compact enclosure. As a result, the amplifier is also well suited to vehicles with a smaller charging system and to installations with limited space.
At a 14.4 V supply voltage, the MX300/1 delivers 160 W RMS into 4 Ω and 300 W RMS into 2 Ω. At 12.5 V, the output power is 160 W RMS into 4 Ω and 250 W RMS into 2 Ω respectively.
A distinctive feature of the MX300/1 is its wide 20 Hz – 20 kHz frequency response. It is therefore not only a subwoofer amplifier, but can also be used to power full-range speakers. The built-in low-pass filter can be switched off if necessary or adjusted in the range of 40–400 Hz. The filter slope is 12 dB/oct.
The amplifier has adjustable bass boost of up to +12 dB at 43 Hz and an output polarity switch. If desired, a JL Audio RBC-1 remote control can also be connected, allowing the amplifier’s output level to be conveniently adjusted from the listening position.
Differential balanced inputs also allow a speaker-level signal to be used without a separate signal converter and help reduce interference from the electrical system. The powder-coated aluminium enclosure and marine-grade fasteners improve corrosion resistance, and the controls are located under a waterproof protective cover.
