JL Audio 10TW3-D4 10″ subwoofer 2×4 Ω

Description

The TW3 series is based on JL Audio’s shallow subwoofer technologies and combines a small mounting depth with a long linear cone excursion. The patented Concentric Tube Suspension™ design allows a large motor system to be positioned further forward than usual, while retaining a full-size spider suspension and large cone excursion.

The subwoofer uses an injection-moulded mineral-filled polypropylene cone, which is durable and designed to deliver deep, powerful bass with low distortion. The aluminium alloy dust cap helps with heat dissipation and the driver’s power handling.

JL Audio’s Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA) technology is used to optimise the performance of the motor, suspension and cone across the driver’s entire range of movement. The aim is to achieve long linear excursion, low distortion, and clean, controlled bass at different power levels.

The 10TW3-D4 uses two 4 Ω voice coils and handles 400 W RMS continuously. The manufacturer recommends using a 200–400 W RMS amplifier. The driver is suitable for use in both sealed and ported enclosures, and the manufacturer’s recommended net volume for a sealed enclosure is just 14.2 litres.
