Description

The TW1 series uses patented Concentric Tube Suspension™ technology. A special structure integrated into the cone supports the voice coil and spider suspension and allows the large motor system to be positioned further forward than usual. As a result, long excursion is achieved without the conventional deep subwoofer driver design.

The subwoofer cone is made of injection-moulded mineral-filled polypropylene. The material is moisture-resistant, and the design is intended to provide good frequency response, deep bass and low distortion.

Dynamic Motor Analysis, or DMA, technology is used to optimise the performance of the motor, suspension and cone across the driver’s entire range of travel. The aim is to achieve long, linear excursion and clean, accurate, controlled bass at various power levels. The Engineered Lead-Wire System, in turn, helps ensure controlled and quiet operation of the connecting leads even at high excursion.

Continuous power handling is 300 W RMS, and the manufacturer recommends using a 75–300 W RMS amplifier. The 2 Ω nominal impedance allows the driver to be combined well with amplifiers that deliver higher output power at lower impedance. The speaker is suitable for use in both sealed and ported enclosures.
