Description

The woofer/midrange driver uses JL Audio’s DMA-optimised design. Dynamic Motor Analysis technology is used to optimise the behaviour of the speaker’s motor, suspension and cone in order to reduce distortion and achieve clean, controlled sound reproduction. The cone is made of mineral-filled polypropylene.

High frequencies are handled by a 0.75-inch (19 mm) edge-driven aluminium dome tweeter with a silk suspension. In the coaxial design, the tweeter is located in the centre of the woofer/midrange driver, forming a compact 2-way speaker solution. An integrated second-order high-pass filter is used to protect the tweeter.

The speakers are designed to be as easy to install as possible. The moderate mounting depth and the tweeter’s small protrusion help fit them into many factory speaker locations. The package also includes multi-purpose adapter brackets, which increase installation options in different vehicles.

Continuous power handling is 50 W RMS, and the recommended amplifier power is 10–75 W RMS per channel. With a nominal impedance of 4 Ω and a sensitivity of 90.5 dB, the speakers are well suited both to upgrading a factory audio system and to a car Hi-Fi setup with a separate amplifier.
