SGM Prime Roof is a premium-class sound deadening material developed specifically for the acoustic treatment of a car roof. The material is made of high-density acoustic felt, in which polyester fibres are bonded to a protective non-woven fabric using thermal bonding technology. This structure helps absorb noise entering the cabin through the roof across a wide frequency range.

Description
According to the manufacturer, SGM Prime Roof can absorb up to 80% of sound across a wide frequency range, and its noise reduction effectiveness reaches up to 20 dB. The material is 10 mm thick, which makes it well suited for use under the headliner as part of a multi-layer sound insulation solution.
The material is moisture-resistant and has been treated with an antifungal agent, which helps protect it against mould. This is important for a car roof, as large fluctuations in temperature and humidity can occur in this area.
SGM Prime Roof is self-adhesive, and its backing uses an acrylic adhesive with a silicone-coated protective layer. The manufacturer specifically highlights the heat resistance of the adhesive layer – the material remains reliable even at temperatures above 80 °C, for example under the roof of a car heated by the sun. The overall operating temperature of the material is –40 to +100 °C.
