SGM M2F2 is a 2 mm thick vibration damping material designed to reduce vibration and resonance in a car’s metal panels. Using the material helps reduce noise caused by body panel vibration and provides a good base layer for building multi-layer sound insulation in a car.

Description

The main part of the material is a 2 mm thick butyl rubber compound, covered with 100 μm aluminium foil. This construction helps make the treated metal surface stiffer and reduce its vibration.

M2F2 has enhanced adhesion, which helps the material attach properly to the treated surface. The vibration damping material is installed as the first layer directly onto a clean, prepared metal surface.

The size of one sheet is 50 × 70 cm, i.e. one sheet covers an area of 0.35 m².
