JL Audio C1-690x 6×9″ oval speakers

Description

The woofer/midrange driver uses a mineral-filled polypropylene cone. The design of the JL Audio C1 series has been developed to deliver clean, dynamic sound and is well suited to situations where a higher-quality audio solution than factory speakers is desired.

High frequencies are handled by a 1-inch (25 mm) aluminium dome tweeter. In the 2-way design, the high-frequency element is located in the centre of the woofer/midrange driver, which allows both frequency ranges to be reproduced from a single speaker location.

The speakers’ mounting depth is 70 mm, and the tweeter protrudes only 10 mm forward of the mounting surface. This design helps fit the speakers into many 6 × 9-inch factory speaker locations. The package also includes lower-mount mounting brackets.

Continuous power handling is 60 W RMS, and the manufacturer’s recommended amplifier power is 10–100 W RMS per channel. As a result, the speakers are suitable both for upgrading a factory audio system and for a car Hi-Fi setup with a separate amplifier.
