SGM Barrier Ultra Prime, or SGM Prime Barrier Ultra under the manufacturer’s current name, is a premium-class multilayer noise insulation material from the SGM Prime series that combines sound blocking, thermal insulation and additional vibration damping in a single material. The material is designed to reduce noise entering the car cabin across a wide frequency range.

Description
The material consists of three functional layers. The top layer is an MLV (Mass Loaded Vinyl) polymer layer, whose purpose is to block sound. Beneath it is a closed-cell polyethylene foam, which improves thermal insulation and helps to dampen sound further. The bottom layer is a pressure-sensitive self-adhesive layer with siliconised protective paper, which simplifies installation.
According to the manufacturer, the noise reduction effectiveness of SGM Prime Barrier Ultra is up to 33 dB. The material is moisture-resistant and withstands temperatures from –40 to +120 °C, making it suitable for use in various climatic conditions.
SGM recommends using Prime Barrier Ultra primarily on the car floor, wheel arches and the bulkhead between the engine compartment and the cabin. The self-adhesive design makes installation easier, and the material does not require heating during installation.
