SGM Barrier Lite Prime noise insulation material

Description

The material consists of three functional layers. The top layer is a lightweight MLV (Mass Loaded Vinyl) polymer layer, which helps block sound across a wide frequency range. Beneath it is a flexible closed-cell polyethylene foam, which improves thermal insulation and helps further deaden sound. The bottom layer is a pressure-sensitive self-adhesive layer with a siliconised protective paper, which simplifies installation of the material.

SGM Barrier Lite Prime is 5 mm thick, and according to the manufacturer its noise reduction effectiveness reaches up to 28 dB. The weight of the material is 3.5 kg/m², which makes it well suited for solutions where it is important to keep the added weight as low as possible.

The material is fully moisture-resistant and withstands temperatures from –40 to +120 °C. The self-adhesive backing makes installation easier, and the material does not need to be heated during installation.

The manufacturer recommends using SGM Barrier Lite Prime primarily in car doors and the boot lid. Thanks to its low weight, 5 mm thickness and multi-layer construction, it is well suited for places where you want to improve sound and thermal insulation without adding excessive weight to the structure.
