SGM Barrier 3 Prime sound insulation membrane

Description

At just 3 mm thick, the material provides up to 34 dB of sound insulation according to the manufacturer. Thanks to its thin construction, it is well suited for places where installation space is limited but the most effective sound deadening possible is desired.

The material is made of modified butyl rubber mastic with added polymers, and it is laminated onto a non-woven fabric base. On the back there is a moisture-resistant reinforced adhesive layer, which helps form a strong and tight bond with the lower sound deadening layer and protects the layers beneath it from moisture.

SGM Barrier 3 Prime does not need to be heated during installation. The material is moisture-resistant and its operating temperature is –40 to +120 °C, which makes it well suited for use in the varying temperature conditions of a car.

The manufacturer recommends using the material primarily on the car floor and in the boot. As part of a multi-layer sound deadening solution, it helps form a dense sound insulation barrier and reduce the noise entering the cabin while driving.
